PortIndex catalogues 17,504 real ports across 226 countries, drawn from the UN/LOCODE reference set. Real, tracked cargo statistics exist for only 1,222 of those ports, spread across just 116 countries — the other 110 countries with a real port catalogue have zero statistics-backed ports today. This is what we track today, and what we don't yet. Sorted by port catalogue size, the largest entries — including several major economies — sit right next to a tracked count of zero. Nothing here is hidden to make the gap look smaller.
